About This Program:
Working in the law can be deeply rewarding, but it also has its stresses and challenges, even in the best of times. This interactive workshop equips lawyers with powerful, concrete tools for identifying mental and emotional issues and working with those issues so they can thrive in a demanding field.
This program offers practical, evidence-supported methods for:
- Identifying and working with anxiety
- Boosting positive emotions
- Cultivating calm and focus, even under pressure
- Developing a heightened, skillful awareness of one’s own mental and emotional states and those of others.
Your Instructor: Jon Krop
Jon is a lawyer and an acclaimed expert in mindfulness and well-being. He has taught at Harvard, Stanford, Yale, Fortune 100 companies, public defenders’ offices, state courts, and more than 80 law firms.
After graduating from Harvard Law School, Jon clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and worked as a litigator at firms in Los Angeles and New York.
Jon has practiced mindfulness since 2006 and studied with teachers from around the world. In 2014, he completed a seven-month silent meditation retreat. He continues to study under a variety of teachers and spends two months out of the year on silent retreat.
