30-Second Stress-Busters
This session answers the question: “What if I’m really struggling, and I’ve got only 30 seconds to do something about it?” We explore a series of techniques that are uncomplicated, quick enough to do in 30 seconds, and remarkably effective at dealing with stress and anxiety. A legal professional’s day moves fast; sometimes, we don’t have more than 30 seconds between our last meeting and our next one. If we want to preserve our own well-being and effectiveness, we need tools that take that reality into account.
30-Second Mood-Boosters
Managing difficult experiences like stress and anxiety is only part of the well-being equation. We can also cultivate more of the “good stuff”: positive moods and pleasant emotions that support our flourishing and mental health. In this program, we identify specific mental habits that research has shown to boost mood, increase the experience of positive emotions, and improve overall well-being. We then explore evidence-backed methods for activating that mood-boosting effect in 30 seconds or less, as well as a handful of methods that go deeper.
